ABOUT

Jenni has been painting and drawing for nearly 20 years. While she uses the term ‘self-taught’ loosely, she has over the years taken many art classes, course and workshops, learning from some wonderful teachers along the way. In the last few years, as she found more time to paint, she has been actively pursuing a career as a full-time artist.

Jenni Tate Reimer

JENNI'S ART PRACTICE

Her art practice is rooted in the use of strong bold colour, often idealised, with a fascination in the interaction of light on a particular subject. While she likes to draw and paint a wide variety of subjects, including still life and life drawing, her primary focus of interest is landscape. Her depictions of Western Australian landscapes often focus on how paint can be used to express a sense of space and time. She likes to use expressive and economical brushstrokes so that specific places, often well known to a local audience, can also allow a subjective interpretation and connection. Jenni paints mainly in acrylic but likes to 'mix it up' with collage, inks and charcoal.
